A focus group is an opinion-seeking panel discussion where consumers, just like you, are asked to share their thoughts on new ideas, products, policies, advertising, packaging and other topics.
Sessions typically last a couple of hours and usually consist of 6 to 8 people who join in a discussion led by a professional moderator. Often the participants in each group have common traits, experiences, or characteristics that allow the discussions to be interesting and informative.
Sometimes instead of focus groups you may be invited to take part in one on one depth interviews or paired depth interviews where you and a friend take part.
An opportunity for companies to test new flavours or types of food or beverage products or packaging before releasing them to the market. Sensory research allows for manufactures to gain your valuable feedback on products.
Testing typically lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours often requiring you to try various options for you to provide feedback on.
As a member of the Prime Research panel, you'll have many opportunities to participate in market research focus groups or sensory testing, conducted in central locations in New Zealand.
